Effective 6 October 2026
Event Sentinel is a Discord bot and a web dashboard. This page says what information that work uses, where it goes, and how to ask a question about it.
When a server admin turns logging on, Event Sentinel posts a record of server events into a Discord channel that admin chooses. Depending on what that server has enabled, those posts can include:
Those posts live in Discord, in the channel the server chose. Event Sentinel does not keep a separate copy of message text in its database.
The bot keeps server settings so it can keep working after a restart:
Modmail relays messages between a member and that server’s staff inside Discord. The message itself stays in Discord. The database stores the thread id, not the conversation.
The dashboard uses Discord’s sign-in. After you continue with Discord, the session stores your Discord user id, display name, and avatar. An access token is kept in the server’s memory so the dashboard can list servers you can manage. That token is not written into the login cookie, and it is dropped when you sign out. The session also ends after 12 hours.
You only see servers where you can manage the server and this bot is a member.
Sign-in attempts are counted for a short time, by address, so the login page cannot be hammered. Addresses written to the logs are masked. This site does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
Server admins control the Discord channels where logs and modmail appear, and who in their server can read those channels. Discord processes the data that stays on Discord, under Discord’s own terms and privacy policy. Event Sentinel does not sell personal information.
Server settings stay until an admin changes them, or until the bot leaves that server and the settings are removed. Log posts and modmail messages remain in Discord for as long as that server keeps them. Sign-in tokens are cleared on logout and are not stored in the database. The short-lived sign-in attempt record expires within about a minute.
Questions about this policy can be asked in the Event Sentinel support server. The Terms of Service explain how the bot may be used.
